1.  TiBraze® 590 AMORPHOUS FOIL IS NOW AVAILABLE

TiBraze590, a low-erosion corrosion resistant filler metal foil in roll form, for brazing titanium alloys, titanium aluminides, refractory metals, ceramics, graphite, carbon-carbon composites, titanium to copper, and titanium to stainless steel, is now offered :

width = 3 inches ( ~ 75 mm ) or 2 inches ( ~ 50 mm )

Ti 16-18 wt.%

Ni 19-21 wt.%

Oxygen < 1250 ppm

Nitrogen < 60 ppm


liquidus temperature = 813C ( 1495F )

solidus temperature = 796C ( 1465F )

brazing temperature for joining titanium or niobium

= 850-870C ( 1562-1598F )

brazing temperature for joining ceramics, graphite, and carbon composites

> 900 C ( 1652F )


density = ~ 6.72 g/cm3 ( ~ 0.24 lb/in3 )

TiBraze590 foil provides reliable work of brazed joints up to 550C (1022F) long term and up to 650C (1200F) short term.

Shear strength of brazed joints made with it :

o ( Titanium Grade 2 , 200-235 MPa (29-34 ksi) )

o ( Ti-6Al-4V alloy , 180-207 MPa (26-30 ksi) )

o ( Titanium to Stainless Steel , 62-97 MPa (9-14 ksi) )

o ( Titanium to Copper , 83-110 MPa (12-16 ksi) )

o ( Titanium to Nickel-plated Steel , 95-124 MPa (14-18 ksi) )


Typical applications are : heat exchangers, fuel pipelines, medical instruments or implants, honeycomb panels, fuel cells, compressor rotors, electronic devices, cooling systems of divertors.


This filler metal provides extremely high corrosion resistance in brazed joints that are made with it due to the lack of copper in its composition.


1 lb of foil covers 1.23 m2 = 11.1 sq. feet.

TiBraze800, a low-temperature filler metal foil, for brazing titanium alloys, titanium aluminides, niobium, refractory metals, ceramics, graphite, carbon-carbon composites, titanium to copper, and titanium to nickel-plated steel, is now offered in roll form :

o ( Titanium to Nickel-plated Carbon Steel , 69-83 MPa (10-12 ksi) )


Typical applications are : heat exchangers, fuel pipelines, medical instruments or implants, honeycomb panels, fuel cells, compressor rotors, electronic devices.


This filler metal has the lowest liquidus and brazing temperatures among all Titanium-based industrial brazing materials.
