Projects1. Mechano-chemical synthesis of powdered
brazing filler metals of the Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni, Ni-Ti-Al, Zr-V-Ti-Mo,
Ti-Fe-Al, and B-Si-C systems prospective for manufacturing
heat-resistant joints of titanium alloys, titanium aluminides, nickel
aluminides, and carbon-carbon composites. Project was started in 1998. Status on July 2005: R&D in synthesis of brazing filler
metals of the Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni, Ni-Ti-Al, Zr-V-Ti-Mo, and Ti-Fe-Al systems were
completed in 1999. Filler metals (see Products and services) are in the production
and sale since 1999. R&D in synthesis of brazing filler
metals of the Zr-V-Ti-Mo system potential
for joining refractory metals were started in 2003 and completed in 2004. The filler metal
TiBraze1500 (see Products and services) is in the production
and sale since 2004. R&D in synthesis of brazing filler
metals of the B-Si-C system potential for ultra-high temperature resistant
joints of graphite and C-C
composites were started in 2005 and are in progress. 2.
Technology
for manufacturing large scale industrial parties of brazing filler
metals based on the cast+grinding approach. Project was started in 2002. Status on July 2005: R&D in the large-scale production of
brazing filler metals of the Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni, Ni-Ti-Al, Ti-Cu-Ni, and Ti-Fe-Al
systems were completed in 2004. A number of filler metals of these systems (see
Products and
services) are in the production and sale since 2004 when making
parties over 20 lbs (~10 kg). 3.
Manufacture
of wire filler metals based on aluminum alloys and magnesium alloys for brazing
titanium at low temperature range of 550-6500C (1020-1200oF). Project was started in 2002. Status on July 2005: R&D in the wire production of
brazing filler metals of Al and Mg alloys were completed in 2005. A number of
filler metals of these systems (see Products and services) are in the production
and sale since 2005. 4.
Manufacture of brazing filler metals for joining aluminum at 530-55oC (986-1020oF).
Project was started in 2005. Status on July 2005: R&D are in progress.
